Behind Ecofan: Where People Serve People

Caframo recently hired a new customer service representative. If you ever called and talked to our old one, you might feel a bit sad that she’s no longer on the lines because, well, she was awesome. But don’t worry, she’s still a part of the Caframily and has moved on to another role. Anyways, our new customer service rep, also awesome, has been shocked and awed by both the Caframo family atmosphere and the passion our customers have for Ecofan – especially since we’ve transitioned into fall (and winter! The Bruce Peninsula - where Ecofan is manufactured - is getting 80cm of snow this weekend!). She’s written a blog about what she’s realized. 

Behind Ecofan: Where People Serve People

A few days ago, my partner and I spent time with family on the Bruce Peninsula. It was one of those days when the wind and chill settled into your bones and stayed with you. After a much-enjoyed hike, we settled in the living room for some good conversation as dinner cooked on the stove.

As I sat there, surrounded by family and tales of the good ole days, I watched as an Ecofan dispersed warmth from the wood stove throughout the space. Soon, rosy cheeks replaced the chill of the blustery winter day. Wood stove heat truly is different- one hour around a wood stove with an Ecofan spinning away can make all the difference. 

I share this story not because I work at Caframo but because I have the privilege of knowing the people who make Ecofan. When you can look at a product and know who built it, you appreciate it that much more.

A Place for Families and Friends

Caframo is nestled along the shores of Georgian Bay just outside of Wiarton, Ontario. Wiarton is a small town but is filled with incredible people. In Wiarton, you can walk along the waterfront and come across an old friend or enter a store and be served by a familiar face. 

At Caframo, our Production Team works alongside each other- sharing stories and milestones as they build our Ecofan collection with their own two hands. Our Quality Assurance Team also inspects each Ecofan to ensure that our customers receive a Canadian-made product of the highest standards. Every Ecofan is constructed and packaged by people who come together daily with a passion for serving our customers and crafting a work of art.

When you call Customer Service, you reach a real person (me!) who understands just how vital Ecofan is to your home and comfort this time of year. Your questions are answered, advice is given, and laughter often follows as stories are shared. 

Created for You

The first Ecofan was built in 1994, and for almost 30 years, it has helped to create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere in homes, cottages, and businesses worldwide. Ecofan has crossed borders and oceans as friends and families have come together to warm themselves around a fire. 

It started with a design, and it's by collaboration with the best of the best that our collection has grown. 

As a member of the New Product Development Team, I have had the privilege to work with people who are not only experts in their field but who approach each project with a deep-rooted passion founded in creating the perfect product. I love finding creative solutions to complex problems that serve the customer and fulfill exactly what they look for in Ecofan while consulting others for their feedback, opinions, and insights. I have seen Caframo grow and evolve as that passion has extended to our customers. With an intimate knowledge and love for the work involved in maintaining a wood stove, I am proud to own an AirDeco and an AirMax and utilize the technology we have created every day.
