Feature: Wandering Wells
While our mission is to move air quickly to cool you down, so many of our customer's goals are to move as slowly as possible. The Wandering Wells are no exception. They were gracious enough to tell us a bit about their family and why, for them, going slowly is their biggest priority.
Our names are Ebony, Matt, Asher and Marlow. We are the Wandering Wells family and we have made a conscious decision to live out our days slowly traveling Australia.
Where are you right now, where were you before and where are you going next?
We are currently in South Australia at the end of our bus build getting ready to take off on our next adventure. At the end of 2020, we decided that we were sick of being stressed working two businesses during such a hard time for small business that we wanted to pack our lives up and travel Australia. We purchased a Toyota Coaster and converted her into our home on wheels. We spent all of 2021 traveling around our country, making the most beautiful memories as a family of four and cherishing time just being.
It was a life-changing year for us, so much so that we decided that we wanted to continue our travels indefinitely. We had two dogs that we were missing terribly so to make it more comfortable and to have more off-grid capabilities we decided that we were going to take on a new project; an 11m Mercedes Benz bus. We spent all year converting a school bus into our off-grid home on wheels and we are just about done. We are hoping to take off in the next couple of weeks and will continue slowly working our way around Australia.
Tell us about yourself. Why’d you choose your lifestyle? How long have you been at it? Any plans for the near future? Distant future?
In January 2020, we opened a cafe 6 weeks before covid hit. It was the start of one of the most stressful years of both our lives but it also switched something in both Matt and me and it really was such a pivotal time in our life looking back now. At the time the stress of two businesses whilst homeschooling and the juggle that came with that was overwhelming. We both were mentally and physically exhausted. I remember one particular night I had come across another family that was traveling and they had been through a similar life journey as us. Their words resonated so much with us about having more time to enjoy each other, and to really be present with our boys every day. It was that night that I knew our life was going to change and a new dream had been sparked. We are so looking forward to this next chapter after spending 11 months on the road together last year.
How did you learn about SEEKR? What products of ours do you have onboard? How’s it working out for you?
We learned early on in our first conversion that there were some “must-have” products when fitting out buses/vans. We had seen in many forums, groups, etc the Sirocco 12v fans and knew we needed to incorporate these into our first build. We had installed 3 in our first build and they were one of our most used things in the coaster. Our recent build and new bus home have also incorporated the Sirocco fans this time having four throughout. Our boys love having their own fans in their bunk beds and I love that they are completely safe for little fingers.
