Your Rating

1. Do your fans have a CSA or UL rating?

Our marine fans are low-voltage fans that do not plug into the grid; therefore, they do not require CSA or UL certifications.

2. What are your fans made of?

The body of each fan is made from plastic. Depending on the fan, the plastic used may be FR ABS or ASA. The blades are made of polyethylene.

3. Can your fans be used to ventilate my engine room, running for a minimum of 24 hours a day?

No. Our fans are not 'ignition proof' certified or tested. In an engine room, there is always the risk of having fuel and hydrocarbon fumes. For this reason, we do not recommend our fans be used in this environment. Our fans use a brushed motor, with an expected brush life of 5000 to 7500 hours. Operating the fans 24-hours will wear the brushes in a shorter time frame than the normally expected duty cycle.

4. Do you offer a fan that will turn on automatically if the power is cut off and restored? Which models offer this?

Yes! The 747/757 Ultimate Fans, 817 Kona or 7482 Maestro Fan would be suitable.

5. Does the motor on the Sirocco II Fan have brushes, or is it brushless?

The Sirocco II fan is equipped with a brushed motor.

6. Is there a way to effectively clean the blade on my Sirocco II Fan?

Yes. Please turn off the power to the fan before cleaning. A vacuum can clear the fan of any dust build-up, and a dry cloth may be used to wipe the surface. Do not use gasoline, thinner or other harsh chemicals to clean the fan, as this can damage the motor and the plastic.

7. Does the Sirocco II Fan have to be mounted?

The Sirocco II fan must be mounted. The fan has a backing plate that can be affixed to the mounting surface using six #6 fasteners/screws.

8. What is the life expectancy of the motor on the Sirocco II Fan?

The Sirocco II features a long life motor with low-power draw, and is designed to function for 5000+ hours.

9. What is the wire size (gauge) for the installation cord on the Sirocco II Fan?

The gauge of wire required for installation is 22AWG.

10. Can the Sirocco II Fan be mounted horizontally? Will it cause the fan to be noisy?

Yes, you can mount it horizontally or vertically. It should not cause the fan to make any excessive noise.

11. What are the dimensions of the Sirocco II Fan?

The dimensions of the Sirocco II are approximately 9.5" W x 3.75" L x 12.25" H (241.3mm x 95.25mm x 311.15mm).

When stowed flat, the fan measures 3.8" (97mm).

12. The fan has been calibrated, and the blue LEDs are working, but my Sirocco II Fan is not functioning. What can I do?

Please ensure that you choose a speed setting after the calibration. If the unit does not start spinning automatically after calibration, please get in touch with our Customer Service Team. Each time the power is disconnected from the fan, it will re-calibrate.

13. What is the maximum amp draw for each setting on the Sirocco II Fan?

The amp draw for the Sirocco II Fan is as follows;

  • Current draw on low 0.06A (24V) and 0.12A (12V)
  • Current draw on high 0.21A (24V) and 0.35A (12V)

14. My Sirocco II Fan is spinning counter-clockwise. Can I fix this?

Yes. You will need to remove the back motor cover plate and switch the wires around on the back of the motor. No soldering is involved as the wires attach to the motor with clips. This should fix the problem and keep both fans wired to the supply line.

15. How many CFMs does the Sirocco II Fan offer on each speed?

The  CFMs for each speed setting are as follows;

  • Speed 1: 125 CFMs
  • Speed 2: 155 CFMs
  • Speed 3: 185 CFMs
