5 Short Australian Caravan Trip Ideas
Most of us have a bit of time off during winter, making it the perfect opportunity for a short caravan trip. Stumped for ideas? Here are some of our favourites:
1. Winery Tour
Within a short drive of most major Australian cities, there is a world-class wine region waiting for you. These regions are overflowing with delicacies to taste and vineyards to admire. Just look at these rolling hills, part of Adelaide's best wine regions!
2. Bushwalking
Walking trips are often much better in the cooler months: there’s less chance of heat exhaustion, fire, and snakes. Embrace the winter greenery, gorges, and flowing waterfalls. Just make sure you pack a rain jacket! Check out the Blue Mountains, below. Don't you want to wander here?
3. Winter Sports
There’s a small window of opportunity each year where you can snowboard and ski. If you’re in the southeast, you’re probably within driving distance of snow! Thredbo village can bump elbows with the best ski resorts in the world, have you been?
4. Head North
If you need a little slice of summer, your best chance is to drive North. Within a few hours of most major cities (Sorry, not you Hobart), you will find locations that offer swimming, snorkelling and sun baking all year round. When you do head north in your caravan, bring Sirocco II along! Installed in more caravans than any other cooling product, Sirocco II is the official fan of the Grey Nomad northern migration, after all!
5. Hit the city!
Short winter trips are perfect for embracing the cultural delights of a new town or city while avoiding the wet weather. Stay dry and get lost while exploring museums, galleries, and restaurants.
